Hometown: Rugby, ND

Why are you in Fargo?

Kelsey Nelson graduated from UND where she studied Human Resource Management and Business Management. After college, she was given a unique opportunity to work in the non-profit sector with fundraising and event planning for the past three and a half years. Kelsey recently moved to Fargo with her husband, Jacob, for his new career opportunity. They are both excited for a new adventure and to experience what Fargo has to offer.

What do you do in your free time?

I love to take in downtown events on the weekends and explore fun
places to grab a drink with friends. I also love to travel and spend time hiking in the mountains.
Otherwise, you can typically find me hanging out with family or working on some sort of craft/ art
project.

What’s your favorite hidden gem that you’ve discovered so far in Fargo?

I love all the bike trails and parks near the river.

How did you first hear of Emerging Prairie?

I first heard about Emerging Prairie through their 1 Million Cups events.

As a new member of the EP team, what are you most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to using my event planning skills and expertise to help create impactful Emerging Prairie events. I think it’s so exciting to be part of a team that creates great experiences and opportunities for connection that can help improve and move our community forward.
