As November begins, we can look back on what has been an awesome month for Fargo and for our startup community! In October we saw Fargo’s new co-working space, CoCo Fargo, continue to grow and establish its place in the community with events and weekly tours.

Working hard at CoCo Fargo

1 Million Cups continues to successfully bring the startup community together for coffee and conversation. This month we featured five movers and shakers of Fargo; from recent grads who’ve developed an app, to the CEO of one of Inc.’s 5000 fastest-growing privately held companies. Girl Develop It Fargo also held their first coding course at the Super Studio last week, the first in a series of four classes that will equip the 25 students with basic knowledge of HTML/CSS coding. 10418538_571443906289747_3894084056655849262_nAll this growth is not going unnoticed. Last week, Fargo received national media attention with an article in Bloomberg, highlighting that Fargo has the fourth fastest metro region in the United States and tearing down the stereotype associated with the Coen brothers film. 029235bf-6b76-4bc0-adc2-866760cbf475 Neighboring cities are watching as well. We recently heard from Start Bismarck, a group that has taken the lead from Fargo in event-planning and community-building and is now growing their own startup community. Fargo has an important role, and as we look to the future, it’s important we continue to engage with each other and with our local community.

We hope to only continue this growth in November and onwards into 2015. One way you can continue to bolster our community is through engaging in local events, and spreading the news to others! Upcoming events include CoCo Fargo’s Membership spotlight, and 1 Million Cups this Wednesday with Marlo Anderson. In December we’ll have Fargo’s Hackathon, and an open house for AdShark Marketing, Danielson Legal, Emerging Prairie, and Myriad Mobile. We send out a list of these events and more every week with our newsletter; if you’re interested in receiving this, subscribe here!

Looking back at October illustrates how dedicated our community is to growing together, and we can’t wait to see what November will hold. Cheers!
