Meet Kirsten

What will you be doing during your internship with Emerging Prairie?

As the TEDx Intern, I’ll be collaborating with and assisting team members to implement TEDx sessions and maintain communication with potential partners and vendors. TEDx has a profound and lasting impact on a community, and I am so excited to take part in the “behind the scenes” work!

What has been the most influential technology innovation in your lifetime?

Google Maps, hands down. I lived in DC for four months last semester, and I’d probably still be wandering around the city without Google Maps.

What do you do in your free time?

I think it’s safe to say most of my free time is spent drinking coffee. Otherwise, I’m probably knitting, quoting The Office or all of that at the same time.

What’s your favorite hidden gem that you’ve discovered so far in Fargo?  16753837_1326816667340951_1537414887_n

The Red River bike trails in the summer!

How did you first hear of Emerging Prairie?

As part of an earlier internship, I attended 1 Million Cups on Wednesday mornings. During my first attendance, I remember being in such wonder at the intentional thought and care the community fostered as a result of the work this organization was doing.

What do you hope to learn as an intern of Emerging Prairie?

I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to learn how to serve this community in a way that both nurtures and challenges Fargo’s giving culture. To grow under the influence of talented, passionate individuals who care is a very cool thing!
