After years of sporting a closely shaved haircut, Emerging Prairie executive director Greg Tehven was spotted leaving Stumbeano’s this morning with a fro-tastic new look.

Rumors stem from an anonymous tweet posted at about 7:18 AM, that read simply, ‘It’s back.’ It was accompanied by this photo:

The tweet, which has since been deleted, caused quite a stir. Conspiracy theorists speculated whether Tehven was wearing a wig or artificial extensions. Tehven could not be reached for comment.

Close friends of Tehven claim the hair is in fact, very real. They had a positive response.

“I’m pretty excited about the new look,” said Tehven’s long-time friend and Emerging Prairie co-founder Jake Joraanstad. “Greg really needed to add a little spice to his look, and I think he nailed it.”

Christy Schauer, Tehven’s soon-to-be-bride, did not appear to be perturbed by the news. In fact, the floral designer seemed excited about the new do.

“This is the perfect look for the wedding,” she said. “My father will be very impressed.”

The fro texture is perfect for holding flowers and other decor, she added, mentioning things like “daisy chains” and “rose crowns.”

Miguel Danielson, another friend, declined to comment.

The only question that now remains is, will Tehven let the fro reach the next level of afrotastic?
