Fargo-based game design startup Beach Interactive has a new member on the team! Meet Sam Szczesny, a Minnesota State University Moorhead student who joined co-founders Sarah English and Kyle Weik as their web design intern this week.

New intern Beach Interactive

Weik, Szczesny, and English at Startup Drinks on Jan. 22.

English met Szczesny and her MSUM professor Alex Fogarty at the Hack Fargo hackathon in December, where they found a mutual interest in game and web design.

“It’s totally awesome how that event [hackathon] served to connect people,” said English. “Sam will be a big help because we definitely need a website.”

Szczesny said she is excited to be working on web design, and with such a stellar team.

Beach Interactive is currently working on an educational language-learning game called The Abettor’s Letters, which teaches French through interactive storytelling. The first episode is set for release in early 2015.

They have also just released a game called On My Own, designed by Kyle Weik and Chad Close. Check out the preview vide0 below. Available now for iOS, Android, and on your browser. Stay tuned on an upcoming article with the full story behind the creation of this game!

Congrats, Beach Interactive!
