Emerging Prairie is excited to welcome Amanda Christopher to the team! Amanda is joining us as our Grand Farm Marketing and Communications Intern. Here she will be responsible for supporting content creation, assisting with event promotion and execution, and engaging with the Grand Farm community to enhance the organization’s visibility and outreach.

Tell us a little bit about you!
“My family and I moved to the FM area in 2012 from Iowa. I have an older brother, a little sister, and an older sister-in-law. We also have a border collie/blue heeler mix named Rio! I love the community here. Going for walks and working on crochet projects are how I spend most of my time, as well as doing my own writing and illustration work!”
What college did you attend? What was your major?
“I am currently in my last semester of my undergrad at Minnesota State University Moorhead. I’m majoring in Studio Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Illustration, and minoring in English, as well as pursuing a certificate in sequential art.”
What’s one activity that energizes you?
“I love going for long walks! It gets the blood pumping and is a great wake up or cool down for the day. Any activity where I can spend time outside in the fresh air is an awesome energizer! That…and caffeine.”
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
“I would love to go to Norway and travel through the beautiful forests there. There are also the cool fjords to explore, and I love the troll and Viking folklore surrounding the country! I’ve never been skiing before, so I feel like Norway would be the best place to start!”
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
“My favorite movie is Monster’s Inc. It’s such an animated classic and I feel it’s one of those films that are for all ages. It’s funny and heartwarming, and since I’m big into cartoons and animation, it still stands as my favorite.”
Tell us one random fact about yourself!
“I have dyed my hair almost every color of the rainbow!”
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
“My favorite part of living in the FM area is the people and how they use the city spaces to show off their passions! From Zanbroz to Black Coffee and Waffles to Brew Bird, you can tell that people love flocking to downtown to experience good food and good company. I also really love the graffiti walls around too!”

“I’m so excited to work at Emerging Prairie because of the stories we get to tell and the people we meet along with them! Fargo-Moorhead is a melting pot of amazing ideas and businesses – getting to help foster the development of them into something more is such a rewarding feeling!”
