Ryan Iwerks, of CboysTv, talked about how CboysTv all got started at 1 Million Cups Fargo on November 20.

Meet Ryan

Ryan Iwerks, of CboysTv, graduated from North Dakota State University last spring with a degree in Business Management. Due to the unique nature of their business, Ryan says, “we don’t typically use titles.” He further explained that, “my responsibilities include everything from marketing, and website design, to order fulfillment and customer service.” When it comes to their business, there is no rule book. Everything they learn is self-taught! Ryan says, “there are no training camps to learn how to hit a jump, do a wheelie, or build a giant slip and slide!” Even though learning everything on your own through trial and error seems scary to most of us, Ryan says he loves it! He likes that it allows him to solve “weird” problems every day.

About CboysTv

Ryan explains, “CboysTv is all about living life to the fullest. We are 7 best friends with an incredible opportunity, and we try to make the most of every moment we can.” They have a slogan, “Live Life Wide Open”, that they use to remind themselves to make the most of every day and every opportunity they have.

Unlike a lot of businesses, these guys have been best friends long before the business was ever even created. They started by hanging out on weekends and riding dirt bikes or goofing off but one weekend, they decided to film it, and that’s when CboysTv took off. CboysTv isn’t just about entertainment though, Ryan says that they “get so many messages from kids around the world that tell us how our videos helped them through tough times, or how we are role models to them. We feel extremely lucky to be a part of so many people’s lives.” They like to give back by donating toys to Jessy’s Toy Box each year.

Event Details

Ryan discussed how CboysTv got started, how they balance friendship and business, and how they planned to expand their business beyond YouTube at 1 Million Cups Fargo. Ryan thinks it’s important to speak at events like 1 Million Cups because their story is unique with YouTube being its major business platform. Ryan explains, “social media is influencing business every day and we feel by helping other entrepreneurs they can take advantage of the benefits of the platform.”
