1 Million Cups continues with Melville Kids Studios

There seems to be a theme developing at the weekly 1 Million Cups Fargo events: the entrepreneurs featured are focusing on younger and younger consumer audiences. Scott Anderson, founder of Melville Kids Studios, joined Fargo community members last Wednesday to discuss the Melville Kids Chair, an easy to assemble multipurpose chair for toddlers.

Scott Anderson and BrittanyThe full crowd at The Stage learned about Scott’s transition from stereotypical work life to stay-at-home father life to the creation of the first chairs and art designs he made for his kids. Seeing the potential for replication on a much larger scale, Scott began developing Meville Kids Studios, which now incorporates the chairs along with window stickers and wall decals. Customizable toy chests are also currently in the works.

Connections were made almost immediately by the individuals who attended the event – during the question and answer period, multiple offers were even made to purchase the Melville Kids Chairs that were on site. Next, Scott plans to search for ways to expand his market and continue developing the materials required for his products in the Fargo area. Although his design replications are sourced from a company in eastern U.S., the rest of his materials are obtained locally.
