Startup Weekend Fargo organizers have officially announced Ben Milne as the keynote speaker for the event on March 7-9, 2014. Milne is the founder and CEO of Dwolla, a digital payment network based in Des Moines, Iowa. Self-described as the best way to move money, Dwolla competes with networks like PayPal to provide easier and less expensive online payment transactions.

Dwolla has already raised over $20 million in venture funding since originating in 2009. Personally, Milne has been recognized nationally, including as one of Inc. Magazine’s 30 under 30 in 2012. His passion for Dwolla’s innovative disruption of the online payments world will add to the entrepreneurial spirit of Fargo’s second Startup Weekend.

Startup Weekend Fargo is an event in which teams of developers, designers, and non-coders compete for 54 hours to create the best possible startup company. Events will be held throughout the weekend, including initial pitches and networking at ecce on March 7, and final presentations at the historic Fargo Theatre followed by an after-party at Mezzaluna on March 9.
