Emerging Prairie is excited to welcome Heidi Joarnt to the team! Heidi joins us as our Director of Marketing, where she will lead and elevate all marketing endeavors for the organization and its events, programs, and initiatives.

Tell us a little bit about you!
I grew up in Max, ND, on a small family farm where we mainly focused on cattle but also raised pigs and chickens throughout my childhood. There were 13 of us in my graduation class. I moved to Fargo for college with a desire to move to Colorado after graduation but fell in love with the area and have called it home ever since. I am married to my wonderful husband, Bret, who is a semi truck driver. We have an energetic 4-year-old boy named Jameson and an orange cat named Ginny (any Harry Potter fans out there?). We just recently relocated to a home in Kindred, ND to enjoy the small town life that we grew up with, but enjoy the amenities of the great FM community.
What college did you attend? What was your major?
NDSU. Earned a bachelor of science with a double major in Marketing and Advertising/Public Relations and a minor in journalism.
What’s one activity that energizes you?
Listening to upbeat music and dancing with my 4-year-old.
If you could take a 30 day, all expense paid vacation, where or how would you spend your time?
Exploring Europe and trying all the great food! Italy, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany to name a few.
Do you have a favorite book or movie?
Harry Potter series, too many movies to pick just one.
What’s your favorite part about living in the FM area? What’s your favorite hidden gem that Fargo has to offer?
I love all the events happening for many various interests from family-friendly activities to arts and crafts. I love having options for ways to engage with our community.
Tell us one random fact about yourself!
I went skydiving for my 21st birthday with 7 friends in a small plane.

I love EP’s mission and truly am grateful for what it has done for making our community a great place to live and raise a family. I’m energized to be part of creating connections with our entrepreneur and innovation ecosystem.
