John Griffin, of TerraCOH, will highlight their new CPG technology at 1 Million Cups Fargo on September 4. Join him at the Island Park Stage at 9:15 a.m.

Meet John

John Griffin, President and Chairman of TerraCOH Board of Directors, is an alumnus of University of Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master’s in Business Administration. He has had an executive role in five startups and welcomes the challenges they present because they motivate the team to work together and persevere. John likes to spend his off-work hours biking and swimming on a Masters swimming club.

About TerraCOH

TerraCOH was co-founded by Jimmy B. Randolph and Steven W. Price in 2014 and their operations didn’t begin until 2016. TerraCOH recently introduced a new technology, Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal, which is a complex form of technology that creates 24X7 zero emission electricity. John explains, “Our solution can also be designed to store energy below ground so that wind and solar can be turned into 24X7 energy. We do all of this while storing vast quantities of carbon dioxide below ground to transfer the geothermal energy to the surface.” TerraCOH’s mission is to “produce zero-carbon, low-cost electrical power using our proprietary Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal – CPG™ technology.” John is most excited about TerraCOH’s mission because of its potential to positively impact the planet and everyone on Earth.

Some achievements that TerraCOH have attained are Semi Finalist in NRG COSIA CarbonXPRIZE competition, Honorable Mention in the Cleantech Open Midwest Cohort, and Energy Storage Finalist in the Shell Game Changer/NREL.

CPG Technology

This technology didn’t surface with ease, it required a ten year research effort and funds of about $5 million in research grants from the United States Department of Energy and National Science Foundation. Jimmy B. Randolph, co-founder of TerraCOH, is the co-inventor of this new CPG technology. The research efforts started back in 2008. TerraCOH’s Carbon Dioxide Plume Geothermal technology will benefit everyone due to its reduction of other high emission electricity productions. This 24X7 zero emission electricity can be produced over around half of the United States and worldwide.

Event Details

John plans to highlight this new CPG technology at 1 Million Cups Fargo on Wednesday, September 4 and how it can “turn CO2 from a liability to an asset to deliver non-emitting electricity and turn solar and wind into 24X7 power.” John is looking forward to speaking at 1 Million Cups Fargo and says, “We think it is important to continue to tell our story to as many people as possible.” To learn more about this new CPG technology and how it can impact you and the planet you live on, attend John’s talk on September 4.

1 Million Cups Fargo is located at The Stage at Island Park and takes place each Wednesday morning from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. If you would like to learn more about TerraCOH and any of their upcoming events visit their website.
